Photography is capturing light. I've learned over the years to always be looking for lighting conditions that I like for my images. Driving back to Gold Beach, Oregon from Brookings one winter afternoon, I saw the storm clouds break open for the sunset. I've also learned that in a beautiful location like the Oregon Coast, you must always have your camera with you because conditions change minute to minute. As I got to Meyers Creek area, I pulled off at a viewpoint to take this shot just as the sun lit the grass and beach underneath the dark storm clouds for mere seconds before fading.
